The Visitors

Our guide Dot talks about the rumors of distant visitors in the land. Some buildings in the Zu lands will show resemblance to the visitors, like the Orrery* building.

However, the Zu people explain it on their walls:
as the Zu created their first fez hat, (the Zu on the left has a tiny fez!)

some visitors came from the heavens. You can see that they bring both a crown and a concentric square, portal-looking thing:

As this knowledge was given to the Zu,

Their eyes opened to the new dimension, and both the newly appointed leader (with the crown) and his assistants (the ones with the hats) got access to this knowledge.

 

*Orrery was a new word for me. English is not my first language, and I thought this might be a misspell or antique spelling from the word "Owlery", where the owls are kept (yes, I learn this with Harry Potter when I read it back in 1999). So it always made me wonder why people would call this squid / alien building "Owlery" if it does not have an owl shape. I thought this implied that the owls were all aliens, so maybe this was the connection. But, alas! NO! An Orrery is a mechanical model of the solar system or at least some of the major planets + sun. This makes total sense, because inside this building there is a mechanical model of the Zu's world + sun + moon system, and we even depicted it in our secret library room.

This does not mean that the owls are not aliens, haha, but that they definitely DO send messages to the visitors.

Under the space / alien room (a space outside the space, a room out of the map, as said by the book), there is an engraving of four owls surrounding a concentric circle. This reinforces the connection of the owls as travelers between worlds or dimensions, and messengers between our world and the visitors.
